The wellness space

Restore yourself in every season

At Lalalandes, wellness isn't an extra — it's the heart of the stay. Whether you're here in midsummer or under January snow, the swimming lane, sauna and Nordic bath are there, available, to regenerate you at your own pace, at any hour of the day or night.

The swimming lane

Twelve metres of pure pleasure, deep in the forest. At night, LED lighting transforms the pool into a magical space. By day, sunlight filters through the leaves and dances on the water. Summer and spring, autumn and winter — the swimming lane is accessible all year round.

  • 12 m long, natural unheated water
  • Coloured LED lighting for evenings
  • Large 75 m² wooden terrace
  • Sun loungers and deckchairs
  • Fully self-service, at any hour

The traditional sauna

Built in solid Douglas fir, Lalalandes' sauna is heated the old-fashioned way, with wood fire. The heat rises slowly, the woody scent fills the air. An ancestral practice for regeneration — intense heat, then a plunge into the cold pool, then rest. Body and mind say thank you.

  • Douglas sauna, capacity 4 people
  • Wood-fired (wood provided)
  • Temperature up to 90°C
  • Direct access to the pool for cold plunges
  • Towels and bathrobes available

Unique experience

The wood-fired Nordic bath

The Nordic bath — the old-fashioned wooden hot tub — is an entirely different experience. You heat the water with wood fire for one to two hours: a ritual in itself. Then you slip in, wrapped in gentle warmth, open to the sky, facing the forest. In cold weather, steam rises from the water and the stars of Aveyron shine above.

  • Solid oak tub, capacity 4 people
  • Wood-fired (wood provided)
  • Gentle temperature: 37–42°C
  • Open air, facing nature
  • Incomparable sensation under the stars
Rituals

How to make the most of it

There are no rules — but there are good habits. Here's how regulars get the most from Lalalandes' wellness space.

Morning · Sunrise swim

Plunging into the cool water at sunrise, as the raking light skims the valley and morning mist drifts between the oaks. The best wake-up in the world — guaranteed.

Afternoon · A hike

The trails of the Dourdou gorges, the GR65 through Conques, the ridges with valley views — legs get a workout, the mind empties. The playground starts at the cottage door.

Evening · Sauna & Nordic bath

Lighting the fire under the Nordic bath is a ritual in itself. The sauna heats, you plunge into the cold pool, you go again. Hot-cold alternation, like a private thalasso, under Aveyron's stars.

Winter · Hot-cold contrast

In winter, the unheated pool becomes the sauna's ally — a cold plunge between sessions in the heat. A spa protocol in pure nature, sometimes with snow as a bonus.

The terrace

The setting for the whole wellness space

The 75 m² wooden terrace is the space that connects everything: the pool, the sauna, the Nordic bath and the house. It's where you stretch out on a lounger after a session, dine outside watching the stars, finish a glass listening to the forest.

  • 75 m² of treated timber decking
  • Soft, warm evening lighting
  • Outdoor dining table for 8 people
  • Sun loungers, deckchairs, hammock
  • View over the Dourdou valley
